Henry Hope
Henry Hope is the Program Coordinator for the Fisheries Management Program. He is responsible for the development and coordination of strategic planning, budgeting and performance management initiatives related to the management of domestic and international marine fisheries. This includes ending overfishing, rebuilding fish stocks, promoting vibrant, ecologically and economically sustainable fishing communities, increasing international cooperation on ending overfishing and utilizing ecosystem approaches to fisheries management. Henry studied biology at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, then taught middle and high school science for several years before taking a position at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership in Washington, DC. At Ocean Leadership, Henry coordinated national initiatives on increasing ocean literacy and promoting ocean sciences through education and outreach programs. He arrived at NOAA in 2008, after completing his Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
